Former al-Qaeda Leaders Speaks Out Against Bin-Laden

Egypt (ChattahBox) – Sayyid Imama al-Sharif, former leader of al-Qaeda, has released a new book from his prison cell in Egypt, where he criticizes Osama bin Laden, and Ayman al-Zawahiri, saying that “every drop of blood that was shed or is being shed in Afghanistan and Iraq is the responsibility of bin Laden and Zawahiri and their followers.”

al-Sharif, who goes by the name Dr Fadl, is serving a life sentence for his many terrorist exploits, after he and bin-Laden created al-Qaeda, and began their campaign of insurgency in Egypt. Since then, he has become an advocate against violence, saying that it is contrary to the laws of Islam, and that 9/11 was a tactical error on the part of Laden, and Egyptian born Zawahiri, who is now a key leader in the organization.

“Ramming America has become the shortest road to fame and leadership among the Arabs and Muslims,” he wrote. “But what good is it if you destroy one of your enemy’s buildings, and he destroys one of your countries? What good is it if you kill one of his people, and he kills a thousand of yours?”

The book has caused Zawahiri to write a 200 page rebuttal of the accusation, which has clear shown that the insults his their mark.

“It has upset Zawahiri personally,” an anonymous diplomat, sent to Egypt from the West, explained.

“You don’t write 200 pages about something that doesn’t bother you, especially if you’re under some pressure, which I imagine Zawahiri is at the moment.”
